Dana Lewis-Ambrose is a Lecturer at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. She is also a doctoral student with the Heriot Watt University specialising in financial management.

Dana Lewis-Ambrose holds a B.Sc. Degree in Economics and Accounting and a M.Sc. Degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) received in October, 1999 and 2002, respectively. Mrs. Ambrose also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Heriot Watt University. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate diploma in Instructional Design from the University of the West Indies, Open Campus. Finally, Mrs. Ambrose is certified to manage and facilitate online instruction by the Commonwealth of Learning in conjunction with UWI, Open Campus.

She has been involved in education, since 1999, in various capacities (teaching, instructional design, student advising and assessment) in Barbados and the Virgin Islands. Mrs. Ambrose has presented academic papers at international conferences across the globe, including: Canada; Taiwan; the Virgin Islands; South Korea; Barbados; Florida; San Juan and Denmark. Most recently, she served as Conference Convenor for the Islands of the World XII Conference held in the Virgin Islands from 29 May – 1 June, 2012.

She has published research in the areas of agricultural economics, environmental economics, environmental accounting, globalisation, the financial crisis, small businesses, regional economics, integration, cultural and culinary history. Her other academic interests are within the areas of global financial management, the political economy and small islands’ studies.

Mrs. Ambrose has been a Executive member of the International Small Island Studies Association since August 2010. In addition, she is a Reviewer for the Journal of History Research with David Publishing Company and she serves as a member of its Editorial board. She also serves as a Lay minister for the St. George’s Episcopal Church in the Virgin Islands.

Dana Lewis-Ambrose is the proud mother of D’André and Daniella Ambrose. She is also the loving wife to Derick E. Ambrose.
